There’s just one week left until A Court of Splintered Harmony hits shelves, and the long-awaited sequel is returning to A Court of Thorns and Roses‘ roots with one Feyre quote.
Hitting shelves on October 27, A Court of Splintered Harmony will mark the first installment in Sarah J. Maas’ romantasy series since Nesta’s novel back in 2021. A Court of Silver Flames marked a big shift for the series five years ago, focusing primarily on Nesta and Cassian rather than Feyre and Rhysand. And while other supporting characters are likely to get plenty of page time in ACOTAR 6, it seems the novel will also feature a return to form.
In anticipation of the book’s upcoming release, Sarah J. Maas shared a quote — complete with original audio — to her Instagram page. Given that it’s labeled “7,” it’s likely readers can expect more lines from the book as Maas counts down to its debut. What’s interesting about this latest tease is that it’s a passage from Feyre’s perspective. It sees her desperately wishing to help someone she loves, but being unable to:
“My body wouldn’t move. Couldn’ move. I could do nothing to help him, nothing at all, and I would die from it. This despair and agony. Please, I tried to beg to the darkness. Please Anything. I’d give anything for him to be safe. My life, my territory, my — “
Bringing readers back into Feyre’s POV is an exciting move for ACOTAR 6, reigniting the nostalgia of the earlier installments. Feyre and Rhysand may earn a happily ever after, but it seems their narrative is continuing beyond it. The real question is what’s going on in this particular Feyre scene. Could this mean Nyx will be caught up in the coming action?
What A Court of Splintered Harmony’s New Feyre Quote Means for the Upcoming Sequel

While the return to Feyre’s POV is exciting, this A Court of Splintered Harmony quote doesn’t bode well for her family. It’s unclear who she’s talking about here, but it seems likely to be either Rhysand or Nyx. After all, there are few people Feyre would sacrifice so much for. Given that the earlier A Court of Thorns and Roses books see Feyre and Rhysand fighting for each other, Nyx seems like the safer bet. It also leaves us to wonder whether that final, cut-off line has to do with Feyre’s mate.
Theories circulating online suggest that this could be a flashback to Nyx’s birth, or some sort of dream sequence. That would certainly be a relief, though it seems inevitable Feyre and Rhys’ child will get caught up in the drama surrounding Prythian’s courts eventually. Fortunately, we don’t have too long to get more insight into this scene. The final stretch until the next ACOTAR novel is officially underway.
